The publication for SIAGASCOT members is free of charge.

For unsolicited articles from non-members, the cost for publication is € 500.

Note that the publication fee is only required for accepted articles. The payment will only be processed after official acceptance and the journal will never require any prior deposit during the review process. Third parties are not authorized to collect APCs for the journal.

Publication Fee Waivers*

Works made by researchers from developing countries may be subject to special conditions/benefits.

Authors coming from the countries included in the “United Nations list of Least Developed Countries” are entitled to ask for a discount.

*Please be informed that applications for waivers have to be made during initial submission and not after an article has been accepted. Applications for waivers and discounts should be made in the cover letter when submitting the manuscript to the Publishing Manager. Please be aware that the waiver status does not affect the review process or editorial decision-making.

Refund Policy

To maintain scientific integrity, JOINTS rigorously proofreads manuscripts before publication. Dedicated editors carefully review manuscripts, enhancing the readability and formatting of manuscripts to meet publication standards. Any remaining queries are discussed with the corresponding author. The article is published only after all issues are satisfactorily addressed. 

The Editor in Chief retains the right to overturn the article’s acceptance if evidence of scientific misconduct is discovered during the production or copyediting process. This includes issues such as figure manipulation/duplication, plagiarism, and other ethical violations. In these cases, the Article Processing Charge (APC) will not be refunded.

JOINTS does not refund APCs once paid in case of voluntary withdrawal by authors before publication, and in case of retractions following post-publication concerns.

English Editing and Manuscript formatting service

When submitting their articles, authors can select two additional services:

• English editing (€ 350)– Authors should write their text in good English (American or British English use is accepted, but not a mixture of these). Authors who are non-native speakers and feel their English language manuscript may require editing to eliminate possible spelling or grammatical errors and to conform to correct scientific English may use the English Language Editing service available from Verduci Editore Author Services.

• Manuscript formatting (€ 250) – Choosing this service, all editorial issues in the article will be fixed by the editorial team.
